Every child is an artist.
The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.

– Pablo Picasso –

My story…

I loved to draw as a child. The drawing above is from my childhood years. However, when the time came to decide which degree to pursue in college, I did not choose one in the creative field. Instead, I decided to study finance, believing it was important to enter a profession that would offer the most job opportunities. Picasso was right.

I was fortunate to work at some of the most prominent financial companies. But as time passed and I grew wiser, I realised that while job prospects are important, it is more important to do what you love.

After a decade working in the finance industry, the best thing happened to me – I was made redundant. I took that as a sign, bid farewell to my finance career, and enrolled in design school. I am incredibly grateful to now be doing what I love.

Thank you for reading my story.
